NIKE We Run/Walk Manila 2

As promised, here is the continuation of my NIKE run last week.

This event wasn’t really a blast, but an additional experience for me.
Freshness, an hour before the run

With my FRHD running buddies (L-R) me, Bennet, Amads, Boss Drew, Logan, Vivian, Paula and Jill

My 3rd 10k run this year, cool!
Caught in the act, cutie! I so love the shot, thanks to RJ of Team USB
This is the first night run event I’ve joined, and I’ve learned that it is still better to join morning fun runs, hahaha!
I was able to finish it with a total time of 1:48:19 – not bad because of the rough roads and uncomfortable weather.

total time

In addition to that, the tee that was given to me which size is XL (yes XL, hahaha) didn’t fit my sexy body, oyeah! :p

Logan and sexy Amads

Thanks to Amads and Kuya Rady (Benet’s hubby who supposed to run too but due to his knee problem, he refrained from joining the event) for lending their shirt to me so I can join. Amads stands as Kuya Rady’s proxy, so he is the one who wore the XL tee which supposedly for me, hehehe. Glad he’s sexier than me – wink!

Anyways, I still love this experience, till my next run! =)

Faas Puma

Goodmorning fellas!! =)
Today is a busy day since I came from Bulacan and back to Makati because I have a shift at 8pm.

A busy and tiring day indeed!

Anyways, I heard from a colleague about a shoe used by a known runner (I forgot the name though, sorry), its brand is called FAAS PUMA. Right after we’ve heard about the shoe name/brand, we google it ASAP! Hahahaha!

Well, the shoe looks so great! The color and style were perfectly fine and I love them!

Yes, I love’em!

Oh my, I want a new pair of running shoe.

Faas Puma Pink
To be honest, I am not using a branded pair when running since I am not really a runner, but since I have started to join some runs such as Yamaha and Run United events, I am now thinking to buy a pair to protect my feet, knee and legs as well.

Also available in BLUE and GREEN! Like it!!

Pretty!!

Awww! Cute ayt!!?

I am not sure if these styles were now available here in Manila, but upon checking the price, it is around $45-90 (roughly php1890 -3780).

If you want a different style and color, just visit PUMA website here.

Run United 2 - My 2nd 10k Run Challenge!

After my ‘unkaboggable’ experience from our Yamaha run, I was so excited to join another event with the same distance, so we registered to ‘Run United 2’ for Unilab that was held last August 21 at the Bonifacio Highstreet, Taguig City.

My singlet love it!
(L-R) Joseph, Derek, Boss Don, Renan, ME, my sis Shaine, Vivian, Paula and Boss Drew

Oh yes, I conquered another 10k run. Cool right? =)

At first, I thought I will not be able to start nor finish this event (for a second time, sigh) since I was on sick leave a week before the said date, but I was wrong (yipeee!!!!!) cause I finished it less than 6min from my previous PR.

My sister (Shaine) who happened to joined the same event too, got her first record of 1hr and 27min.

with my sis

Amazing!!!!! So proud of her =)

Running is Addicting

I used to hate running. I don’t like the fact that I can’t breath after doing it even just for a second/minute.

But this time, it started to make me feel good. It is really refreshing.

See you dear runners on my 3rd 10k run!

This is for the benefit of the cancer patients. Hoping that this event will be able to provide even your simple needs.
Proud to be part of it =)

Nothing is Impossible!

‘Tara na Shy, join ka na, kaya mo yun!’ – Paula exclaimed when she’s trying to convince me to join their 2nd run which will be my 1st ever run (no training, no jogging, no preparation ever).

At first, I was hesitate to join them (Paula, Andrew, Shun, Derek and Lea) because I am a BIG GIRL. I am heavy, ofcourse it will be difficult for me to run since I know that I will get a not so good result. Pero dahil ayaw ko namang magpahuli sa team namin at gusto ko yung lumalayas kame ng grupo talaga, at dahil nainggit ako sa run nila before, I said “SIGE”!

I can’t believe that I said yes to them. Oh no!

So okay na, 5k, fine, AJA nalang!

The night before we fully decided to register on our 5k Yamaha run, they changed their minds. Ayaw na nila ng 5k, 10k na lang daw.

Huh!? 10k?!

Can’t be!!!

I really can’t go and join them, baka mahimatay ako sa daan, dyahe diba?

So I said, no.

Paula, again tried her best to convince me. Shun helped her too and even Boss Drew.

‘Kaya mo yun!’

‘Malapit lang yun, di naman yun puro takbo eh, pwede ka namang lumakad.’

‘Sayang kasi Shy, same price lang naman tapos achievement pa yun’

So on and on and on…

I can’t decide, I wanted to join pero di ko kaya ang 10k! My golly!!!

So before pa maubos ang convincing power ni Pau, I said YES again.

Hahaha!

So a week before the much awaited 10k run challenge, we’ve plan to jog, pero di kaya ng schedule so nauwi kames a ‘stairs’.

Oh yes, stairs sa office, sa fire exit. Cool!

In short, may challenge naman akong dinaanan before ang 10k run, pero kahit na, I am still nervous no!

July 3 came. Medyo kabado pa ko, but my sister was there to support me, to take some pics and wait for me sa finish line =)

Whew!

Gun start!
From the start line, people on my front started to run, some started to walk and ako, tulala, naglakad, jog kunwari.

Argh!

Where are they?

So fine, I am old, old enough to know what to do even if I really don’t know the things that might happen during this 10k run.

Run. Walk.

Paulit-ulit lang yung ginagawa ko, mas matagal pa nga yung walk kesa run/jog.

I saw some runners who were running so fast. I am totally amazed! I told myself, ‘so here you are, aatras ka pa ba? Go, kaya mo yan!’

Well, one thing I’ve realized that day is that ‘mahirap pala kausap ang sarili’ hehehe.

On my first kilometer, I felt some pain on my tummy.

So I run again even if its kinda painful, I just continue running and just ignore the pain.

When I reached the 3k banner, I felt so proud.

Then I saw an ambulance, during that time I am having a hard time to breathe. My heart is beating so fast and it’s quite painful. Again, I have tried to ignore the pain. But honestly, I really wanted to go to that ambulance and ask the driver to drive me home so I can rest.

Fear is starting to cover me, I just pray. I asked God to guide me all the way, and then a gospel song played on my iPod.

The lyrics said: ‘Through You, I can do anything, I can do all things, cause it’s You who gave me strength, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE…’

Oh yes, nothing is impossible with God.

Then after ilang minutes lang nakita ko na yung banner ng Yamaha showing the ‘9k’ symbol.

Wow!

Nasa 9th km na ko? Amazing!

Sa sobrang galak, napasigaw pala ko, well not exactly sigaw pero napalakas lang yung voice ko.

Sabe ko, ‘Yes! Isa na lang!’

Sakto naman na may dumaan sa gilid ko, so nung nasa front na sya, narinig nya pala ko, lumingon sya and he smiled, ayun, smile na lang din ako. Pero grabe, nakakahiya pala.

Hahaha!

My sister was there, happily waiting for me, kahit pa inisip nyang baka sakay na raw ako ng ambulansya.

Hahaha!

I was able to finish this 10k run in just 1hour and 48min. Not bad for a first timer huh? =)

Truly, nothing is impossible when you trust God and ofcourse yourself too!
